    In plain language

Be honest, be kind, keep contact and payment on WorkKE, sell only what you can deliver, and never trade or threaten reviews. We warn first, then remove content, then restrict posting, and suspend accounts for repeat or serious violations — with an appeal route for every decision.

This summary is for orientation only — the full text below is what applies.

    Effective Date: 21 August 2026

These Community & Marketplace Guidelines explain how we expect everyone on WorkKE to behave — in the Community Forum, in job briefs and proposals, in Digital Stores, in chat, and in reviews. They sit alongside our Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, Vendor Agreement, Wallet & Payments Policy and Dispute Resolution Policy.

    1. Who these guidelines apply to

They apply to every WorkKE user: clients posting work, freelancers and cybercafé operators delivering it, Digital Store owners selling files and voucher codes, trainers, and anyone reading or posting in the Community Forum. They apply to public content and to private messages.

    2. Community Forum conduct

    • Post in good faith. Ask real questions, share real experience, and keep threads on topic.
    • English and Swahili are both welcome. Write so other members can follow you.
    • No spam, no repeated self-promotion, no link dumps, and no duplicate threads on the same question.
    • No harassment, threats, hate speech, or tribal, religious or political abuse. Disagree with the argument, not the person.
    • No doxxing. Never post someone else's phone number, ID, address, M-Pesa details or private messages.
    • No adult content, gambling promotion, get-rich-quick schemes, or "sell your account" offers.
    • Label AI-assisted posts honestly if the substance was generated rather than written from your own experience.

    3. Keep contact and payment on WorkKE

Phone numbers, WhatsApp links, personal email addresses, Telegram handles, and payment handles must not be posted in forum threads, job briefs, proposals, listings or chat before a contract is in place. This protects escrow, dispute rights and both sides' payment history.

Our automated contact guard detects and redacts these details. Repeat attempts lead to graduated posting restrictions of 24 hours, 72 hours, then 7 days, and can end in account suspension. If you believe a detection was wrong, use the appeal link shown on the flagged message.

    4. Marketplace and Digital Store standards

    • Sell only what you can deliver: digital files and voucher codes. Physical shipping is not supported on WorkKE.
    • Titles, descriptions, previews and cover images must describe the actual product. No stock images passed off as your own work.
    • Prices must be real. Do not show a struck-through "original" price that was never charged.
    • No counterfeit goods, cracked software, leaked exam material, resold third-party licences you do not hold, or anything our payment partners prohibit.
    • Deliver within the timeline you promised. Voucher codes must be valid, unused and unique per buyer.
    • Answer buyer questions and refund requests within two business days.

    5. Jobs, proposals and delivery

    • Job briefs must describe real work with a real budget. No unpaid "test tasks" disguised as jobs.
    • Proposals must be written for the brief. Mass-pasted templates and invented credentials are grounds for removal.
    • Do not submit work you did not produce or do not have the rights to.
    • Deliver through the job workspace so both sides have a record.

    6. Reviews and ratings integrity

    • Review only work you actually gave or received.
    • No paid, incentivised, traded or reciprocal reviews, and no reviews from accounts you control.
    • Do not use a rating as leverage — threatening a one-star review to extract free work, a refund or a discount is prohibited.
    • Retaliatory ratings after a dispute may be removed.

    7. Money moves through WorkKE

All payments for work discovered on WorkKE run through the WorkKE wallet and escrow. Asking a counterparty to pay outside the platform, invoicing them directly, or taking a repeat client off-platform is a serious violation and can end in permanent termination. Wallet limits, deposit tiers and withdrawal rules are set out in the Acceptable Use Policy.

    8. Reporting a problem

Use the Report action on any post, comment, listing, product or profile, or open a support ticket. Tell us what you saw and link to it. Reports are confidential — we do not tell the reported user who filed the report.

    9. How we enforce

Moderators review reports and automated flags and act proportionately:

    1. A warning with an explanation of the rule.
    2. Content removal or redaction.
    3. Posting or messaging restrictions of 24 hours, 72 hours, or 7 days.
    4. Listing removal or Digital Store suspension.
    5. Account suspension, and for severe or repeat violations, permanent termination with funds handled under the Wallet & Payments Policy.

Fraud, threats of violence, child safety violations and sanctions breaches skip the ladder and are actioned immediately, and reported to the authorities where the law requires it.

    10. Appeals

Every enforcement notice includes an appeal route. Open a support ticket within 14 days with your reasons and any evidence. A different reviewer decides the appeal, and we aim to respond within five business days. Payment disputes follow the Dispute Resolution Policy instead.

    11. Changes to these guidelines

We may update these guidelines as the platform grows. Material changes are announced by email and an in-app banner at least seven days before they take effect. Questions: support@workke.co.ke.
